This is an idea that Ash had - and I think its a great idea - to have a single place to release source code for tools that the group has generated.
It would minimally need to keep track of version numbers and allow release notes on each one.
It would be nice to be able to upload data files like measurment data and programs in the same way you upload pictures in Gallery. How difficult is this to implement? I have got tons data and programs from previous projects that should be preserved (I think, other may disagree).
We should store the grant code and authority for particular projects, in case we can put the structure to use later on.
(We could conceivably recover this from the URL, or build the URL from it for funding bodies we know enough about).
It would be great to be able to add Special Issues of Journals to selected conference. Many conferences have one - quite often they open them up to non conference submissions too.
I've added PASM-SI and QAPL-SI (recently) - but it feels all wrong. Obviously there is no location for a SI or start-end dates so those are just place holders.
It would be nice if SI website, SI submission date and SI description could be optional fields when submitting a conference - obviously they could be filled in later if not known at the time of the conference. There could be a link created on the associated conference page but the SI should also have its own submission entry/deadline on the conference page.
I will happily kick across the old data by hand and free up the XXX-SI usage (modulo redirects of course).

As someone who enters a lot of data on the site - this is probably my top niggle. Not at all urgent, but still a niggle.
Can linebreaks be treated in the same way as LaTeX. ie 1 x \n = does not start a new para. 2 x \n does.
This would make pasting text from websites/emails much less painful.

It would be nice to have a conference planner for the next 12 months showing both conferences and submission dates. It shouldn't be too big... not a CATE special! just 12 boxes - one per month. with some small graphic per conf entry.

On trying to add a new project with start date March/2003 end date March/2006 (not significant, but it explains where I get 2006-3- from below), I get the following error:

Projects should be able to have a logo, and it should link through to the project Web site if one exists.
I imagine it'd be floated right.
We should be able to tag publications as being pertinent for particular projects.
Need not worry about only putting a paper to one project, this would be about helping visitors get where they want, not claiming things as research output.
Optional (need to ask pgh about this): what do we think about displaying the value of the grant just to doc browsers... this maybe a little in-ya-face and all of the amounts on EPSRC grants can be found within two clicks anyway.

Can we display all the projects current and past on one page. Obviously there should be a heading of 'current projects' and 'past projects'... listed by reverse cronological order by start date (I think). Maybe if we get more than 20 or 30 we can have very old projects on a separate page (cf conference list page).
